Community Garden

what's that?

Hydroponic Greenhouse

The hydroponic greenhouse utilizes energy conserving techniques to water and feed plants. Nutrients are pumped to plant towers where styrofoam pots are stacked vertically, allowing more space and more plants. This greenhouse also utilizes a special "soil"to grow our plants in- coconut fiber!

Obtained from a local high school, this greenhouse will be more traditional with planting tables and a heating/cooling system.

Hoop House

This is a traditional structure utilizing a metal half-circle frame to provide structure for shade cloth and support for climbing plants. Heirloom tomatoes will climb strings attached to the hoops and reach lengths of ten feet!

Raised Beds

Eventually raised beds will be built around the border of our greenhouses and hoop house. These structures are low to the ground and allow for gardeners to easily reach growing plants.
