A LETTER FROM PASTOR RHETT

March 14, 2019


Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.(Ephesians 3:20-21)

 

Starting in October of 2018 and up to this date, the Lord has done so much more than all I asked or imagined as our congregation (and friends of our church) pulled together to raise over $1,100,000 for BUILDING FOR THE HARVEST. I am amazed and encouraged by the 100 giving units of BPC and the 70 plus external givers that responded to God’s prompting to give so graciously and sacrificially.  

 

On Sunday, March 3rd we gathered at 441 Rimer Pond Road, Blythewood, to praise God for His faithfulness, and using a plow and two long ropes, we broke ground as a congregation along with representatives from the Blythewood community. What a joy it is to see God’s hand in all of this – as He is building His Kingdom and advancing the Gospel in and through Blythewood Presbyterian Church.

 

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “All this may seem impossible to you now, a small remnant of God’s people. But is it impossible for me?” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. (Zechariah 8:6)

 

As we see the construction of this worship & ministry building take shape, may we continue to trust and experience God’s constructive work in our hearts and church body. It is the Lord that builds His Church for His Glory and the Salvation of many. 

 

Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest. (Psalm 85:12)

 

The Lord is gracious and generous to us and empowers us to be gracious and generous. He has blessed us to be a blessing.  May we reflect His generosity towards us and continue to live generously. Every dollar that is given above what has been pledged, is one less dollar that has to be financed. And the less we have to finance, the more we can pour into ministry ~ for the advancement of the Gospel.

 

Let us be in prayer with each other that this process will bear reliable witness to the beauty of the Gospel and that the Lord will produce a bountiful harvest in our hearts and in the hearts of those that do not yet know Him!
